Position: Rural Practice Surveyor
Key Skills
Subsidies and Grants In depth knowledge of Single Payment Scheme and negotiation with the Rural Payments Agency In depth knowledge of Entry Level Stewardship and Higher Level Stewardship schemes and negotiation with Natural England Experience of Grants, Woodland Schemes and Wildlife Schemes
Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Experience in negotiating with and acquiring authority for power and pipe lines
Planning and Development Rural planning – experience with farm diversification schemes and planning advice and guidance.
Valuations and Sales Involved with advising on the valuation and sale of agricultural and residential properties. Experienced in valuations for all specialist purposes including taxation, probate and secured lending
Landlord and Tenant Knowledge of Landlord / Tenant issues relating to Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies
Education BSc (Honours) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management – Harper Adams Agricultural College Member, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Fellow, Central Association of Agricultural Valuers
Experience Land Agency for County Council Smallholding Estates in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Agricultural Finance Experience with Farmers Weekly and Estates Gazette
Background From a farming background in East Anglia, now living on a farm in Northumberland.
