Abbey Backdrop For Successful Farming Seminar
The beautiful ruins of a 12th century abbey formed the setting for an informative seminar for members of the Yorkshire farming community. More than 50 guests attended the evening event on April 23 at Jervaulx Abbey, between Masham and Leyburn, hosted by George F White, Armstrong Watson and Coles Solicitors.
After a guided tour of the abbey from owner Ian Burdon, guests heard about a wide range of topics from mitigating against flooding, taxation changes, succession planning, partnership agreements, tax relief and holiday lets to updates on real time payroll information, the Common Agricultural Policy and the agri-environment scheme.
Ed Hewetson, a chartered surveyor at George F White’s said: “The event was a great success with good numbers, a fantastic venue and lots of informative speakers. I would like to thank the guests, our hosts and my fellow presenters for making the evening go so well.”
