Family Fun To Raise Research Funds In Yorkshire
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) is to hold a Family Fun Day in North Yorkshire on Sunday 26 May, to raise funds for its groundbreaking wildlife research.
The Fun Day has been organised by the GWCT’s North Yorkshire committee and will be held at Morton Grange, East Harlsey, Northallerton, by kind permission of the Barnard family. The highlight of the day will be a competition for teams of two (one adult and one junior) in a 25 bird flush on each of the four stands.
The Trust’s scientific research has put it at the forefront of conservation work in the UK. Its recent high-profile work has included projects to investigate salmon population decline, track the movements of the elusive woodcock by satellite tagging, and identify the best ways to protect vulnerable natural resources across Europe.
The Family Fun Day is sponsored by property management agency George F White. Edward Hewetson, a rural practice surveyor with the agency said, “George F White are delighted to be sponsoring the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust Family Day. Many of those running the event have been fortunate to be shown the benefits of a country sporting heritage from an early age. It is wonderful to be involved in promoting the GWCT and the undertaking it makes to sustaining our rural environment.”
Tickets for the shoot are £40 per team and teams can register for the event up to 10.30am on the day. Other activities will include a Have a Go pool shoot, dog racing beginning at 1pm, target shooting, archery, target golf and fly fishing for all ages. There will also be a barbecue and refreshments on the day.
The event promises to be a great day out for all the family. It opens at 9.30am. For more information please contact Nick Barnard on 07740 642510 or by email at email@example.com.
