Farm Diversification Award 2015
We are once again delighted to be running the George F. White Farm Diversification Award, which will see farmers in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire competing for this prestigious accolade. Entries are now being invited from all farming businesses that have recently established a new enterprise in the area and the winner will be announced whilst we are exhibiting at the Driffield Show on the 22nd July 2015.
The Award includes a £500 prize plus a trophy, and is open to farmers in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire who have diversified by establishing a new enterprise within the last five years.
Last year’s winner was Three Little Pigs, a ‘perfectionist producer’ of cured meats based in Beverley, East Yorkshire. Jon Clarkson who runs the business with his wife Charlotte commented: “We were both very pleased to win the farm diversification award. A lot of hard work has gone in to our farm, setting up a free range, rare breed pigs from scratch, so it’s lovely to have this support and recognition.”
Tom Mason, Partner with George F. White said: “We had very strong applicants for the 2014 award and I was impressed by the success of the Three Little Pigs, how it had developed in short period of time, generating a good secure diversified income for Jon and Charlotte. We urge farmers to make sure they enter this year and are looking forward to seeing the creative and inspiring ways our region’s farmers use diversification to help provide a stable income in times of such uncertainty in the agricultural sector.”
To be considered for the award please download the entry form below and follow the instructions of how to enter.
