Holderness Point to Point 2013
Thousands braved the rain and inevitable mud to enjoy the 2013 Holderness Hunt Point to Point at Dalton Park on Sunday. It was fantastic to see a great mix of people including farmers both young and old selecting their bets on the days 90 runners alongside equine enthusiasts from the local environs.
Unfortunately only five of the seven scheduled races were completed as the weather worsened and concerns grew for the public areas as well as the inability for medical staff to access the course should they have been needed.
From the races that took place the winners were as follows:
Hunt Members Race
The Gloves Are Off – (R Lindsay)
Chip N Pin – (Miss Jo Mason)
Code Blue – (G Brewer)
Palypso De Creek – (Miss C Hart)
Leedfka – (Miss J Coward)
George F White sponsored the Masters Hospitality Tent this year and despite the weather conditions Tom Mason, a Partner at the firm’s Shiptonthorpe office, said “There was a good crowd, probably the largest I have seen so far this season at a local meet and they were entertained with some exciting racing so despite the shortened event hopefully everyone enjoyed the day”.
