The Area
Located in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Craster is Archway Cottage. The village has a range of local facilities including the The Jolly Fisherman (renowned for its excellent food), art galleries, cafes and the visitor centre. The area is well known for its stunning beaches and coastline, in particular the walks to Dunstanburgh Castle and beyond. The next village to the North is Embleton which has a pub, garage and village shop/post office.
Wider amenities can be found in the historic market town of Alnwick with specialist shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels. The Alnwick District is famous for its unspoilt beauty with long sandy beaches, quiet friendly villages, the Simonside and Cheviot hills, well preserved medieval Castles and gardens. There are numerous stately homes in the area including the fantastic Alnwick Castle (seat of the Duke of Northumberland) and the popular Alnwick Gardens.

Directions
From Alnwick, take the B1340 (signposted Bamburgh), Continue forward for approximately 3.5 miles then turn right (signposted Craster). Follow the signs for Craster. Once in the village drive past the harbour then just at The Jolly Fisherman Pub turn right up Whin Hill and look for the archway just a short way up on the left. The cottage is the property to the right of the arch, entrance through the arch.
