Chatton is a small village located 5 miles to the west of the A1 and in the lea of the Cheviots which benefits from a popular put and restaurant and a village store.
The village has recently benefitted from residential development which has proven popular. The village is readily accessible to Bamburgh and the Northumberland coastline to the east and the National Park and Cheviots to the west.
Alnwick to the south and Wooler to the west are the nearest towns with facilities and amenities. There are mainline railway stations at Alnmouth and Berwick with Newcastle International airport approximately 40 miles distant.
The coast of Northumberland and Alnwick District has become extremely popular as tourist destinations with the attractions of Alnwick Castle and the Castle Gardens and close proximity of Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and Chillingham Castles, Lindisfarne and Holy Island.
The farm steading was until recently part of a working farm and Planning Consent was granted to convert the redundant stone farm buildings into 8 units. The original Planning Consent has now lapsed and plans have been submitted to Northumberland County Council for a slightly amended scheme to make best use of the buildings and their aspect including construction of more window openings and revised internal layouts. Copies of the revised plans can be made available. There would be additional potential for further alterations and the site is large enough for possible additional development subject to Planning Approval.
