The river, a tributary of the North Tyne which many consider to be one of the best stretches from both number and quantity of salmon in the UK. Presently there is a healthy run of salmon and sea trout in the Spring and Autumn, in addition to a strong residency of native wild brown trout throughout the season.
This stretch of river lies adjacent to Otterburn Mill itself, south west of Otterburn Village, just outside of Northumberland National Park. The river is easily accessible, including from the Otterburn Mill parking area (etched green on the map).
The property is sold subject to an existing agreement with a fishing syndicate for the 2019/2020 season which will expire on the 31st October 2020. However this does not preclude the prospective purchaser and guests from fishing along the river stretch this season.
