Alnwick is approximately 8 miles to the south west with Seahouses 5 miles to the east. There is direct access from the B1340 Ellingham/Chathill to Seahouses road. The yard is as identified on the plan and consists of relatively level ground incorporating part of the loading/unloading dock of the railway siding and a single storey stone building.
