Having worked in the industry for 15 years, with both regional and national firms as a Land Agent/Farm Consultant, Andrew has developed a working knowledge and expertise of rural businesses and agriculture. This is coupled with four years of practical farm management experience on a large mixed arable and livestock farm in Northumberland. The combination gives Andrew a unique insight into facilitating the practical implementation of the advice he offers to clients.
Andrew is predominately based in the Duns office, covering the Northumberland, Borders and Cumbria regions and supporting landowners and farmers on a range of operational, financial and planning matters.
Andrew is actively involved in farm business management, appraisals, restructuring and strategic business planning. Completing farm budget and cashflow analysis, planning and monitoring, along with the completion of funding briefs and business plans. Andrew takes a hands on approach and looks to identify through a structure business and enterprise appraisal system the key opportunities/problems. He works with clients and other professional advisors to improve enterprise and business performance. As well as farm business management, Andrew also prepares and submits grant applications, farm subsidy applications and environmental stewardship applications.
Andrew has also worked with clients and colleagues to identify asset enhancement opportunities within planning and development and energy schemes.
