Associate - Commercial
James is the lead for commercial property in County Durham where he is heavily involved in a wide range of valuation work involving all types of commercial, residential, development and rural properties on behalf of banks, pension funds and charities, as well as private property stakeholders.
James also plays a key role for clients in negotiating commercial lease terms under the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954, as well as advising on rent reviews and other related Landlord and Tenant matters. Allied to this is an increasing involvement in negotiating lease terms on behalf of property owners with network operators in relation to telecommunications mast equipment under the new Electronic Communications Code as part of the Digital Economy Act 2017. More generally, James advises client’s on how best to dispose of their commercial property assets, whether by way of sale or letting, to seek the best terms possible in, sometimes, challenging market conditions.
